Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (12/6/2024) at 10:05 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, chicken eggs, mackerel, skipjack tuna, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, and iodized fine salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel experienced the highest price jump, increasing by Rp1,430 (3.86%) to Rp38,490 per kg. Iodized fine salt saw the largest price decrease, dropping by Rp110 (0.96%) to Rp11,360 per kg.
