Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Prices of Cooking Oil, Sugar, and Chilies Increase

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (21/6/2024) at 08.45 WIB, out of 17 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, medium rice, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, pure beef, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of broiler chicken saw the highest increase, jumping Rp4,720 (13.38%) to Rp40,000 per kg. The price of packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) saw the largest decrease, dropping Rp970 (7.48%) to Rp12,000 per kg.

3. Red Chili Peppers: Rp50,000 per kg (up 0.68%)
4. Red Onions: Rp48,000 per kg (up 12.33%)
5. Garlic Cloves: Rp40,000 per kg (down 0.05%)
6. Broiler Chicken: Rp40,000 per kg (up 13.38%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (up 9.61%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,000 per kg (down 0.99%)
9. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (up 1.64%)
