Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Oil, Egg, and Onion Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) at 12:37 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include skipjack tuna, SPHP rice, red bird's eye chili, curly red chili, and consumption sugar.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken meat, consumption salt, packaged cooking oil, red onion, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red bird's eye chili saw the highest jump of Rp836 (2.16%) to Rp39,548 per kg. Meanwhile, red onion prices experienced the deepest decline of Rp755 (1.68%) to Rp44,290 per kg.
