Daily Price of Large Red Chilies at Traditional Markets, February 2024

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Maluku Province is recorded at Rp40,000. This price is unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

Over the past month, however, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets has decreased from a previous record of Rp50,000.

Meanwhile, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Maluku over the past three months has fallen by 20%. According to historical food price records in the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Maluku Province was traded at Rp50,000.

The record high for the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in October 2020 with an increase of 57.14%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in May 2020 with a decrease of -33.33%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Maluku show 13 commodities decreased and eight others increased. Basic commodities with price decreases include Garlic, Rice, Cooking Oil, Fresh Broiler Chicken, Beef, Super I Quality Rice, Inferior Quality II Rice, Red Chili, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1, Medium-Sized Garlic, Quality 2 Beef, Curly Red Chili, and Chicken Meat.

The following are the prices of nine basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price changes over the past month in Maluku Province:

6. Cooking Oil per Kg Rp20,800 per kg (down 11.11%)
7. Fresh Broiler Chicken per Kg Rp51,450 per kg (down 1.91%)
8. Beef per Kg Rp154,950 per kg (down 6.6%)
9. Super I Quality Rice per Kg Rp16,900 per kg (down 1.17%)
10. Medium Quality II Rice per Kg Rp17,200 per kg (unchanged)
11. Inferior Quality II Rice per Kg Rp16,700 per kg (down 2.05%)
12. Fresh Layer Eggs per Kg Rp40,900 per kg (up 6.93%)
