Subang Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp49.69 trillion. This represents a 4.64% growth compared to the previous year's Rp46.16 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a decline of 1.15%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 1.62 million, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp30,120,000 per capita per year. Nationally, this ranks 401st.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
In 2023, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Subang Regency recorded a value of Rp14.92 trillion, ranking first among the 17 sectors. This sector grew by 2.17% compared to the previous year's figure of Rp13.92 trillion.
Second is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 4.44% to Rp6.81 trillion. The manufacturing industry sector grew by 2.04% to Rp6.44 trillion.
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP sectors in Subang Regency is mining and quarrying with a value of Rp2.8 trillion. According to BPS, this sector experienced a -0.39% growth over the past year, down from the previous year's Rp3.17 trillion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the most to GRDP growth in Subang Regency is agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, with a contribution of 26.3%. Other sectors in the top five include wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; the manufacturing industry; construction; and mining and quarrying.
Sectors with the smallest distribution include Real Estate; Health and Social Services; Water Supply; Waste Management, Waste and Recycling; Electricity and Gas Supply; and Business Services.
