Bandung Regency's 2023 Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp153.95 trillion. This represents a 4.97% growth compared to the previous year's Rp143 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth recorded a decline of 1.8%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 3.72 million, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp41,370,000 per capita per year. Nationally, this ranks 289th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the region's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
In 2023, the manufacturing sector in Bandung Regency recorded a value of Rp80.87 billion. This is the highest among the 17 sectors. The sector grew by 3.15% compared to the previous year's figure of Rp76.75 billion.
Following this is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 5.86% to Rp19.93 billion. Next is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in third place with a GRDP of Rp10.85 billion (3.21% growth).
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP sectors in Bandung Regency is transportation and warehousing with a value of Rp6.5 billion. According to BPS, this sector achieved a 12.85% growth over the previous year's Rp5.24 billion.

In terms of distribution, the manufacturing sector contributed the most to GRDP growth in Bandung Regency, accounting for 51.73%. The other top five sectors are wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; construction; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; and transportation and warehousing.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are Health and Social Services; Financial and Insurance Services; Business Services; Electricity and Gas Supply; and Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling.
