Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Sugar, Rice, and Chilies Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (19/12/2024) at 15:39 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, pure beef, iodized fine salt, granulated sugar, and dry soybean (import).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, simple packaged cooking oil, bulk cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish experienced the highest price increase at Rp3,230 (8.74%) to Rp40,170 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili experienced the sharpest price decrease at Rp2,430 (4.81%) to Rp48,100 per kg.
