Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Red Chili, Egg, and Oil Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (August 28, 2025) at 13.38 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 6 commodities increased and 16 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices are broiler chicken meat, red onion, milkfish, dried soybean (imported), and mackerel.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as pure beef, premium rice, medium rice, red cayenne pepper, and broiler chicken eggs decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Dried soybean (imported) saw the highest increase of Rp80 (0.78%) to Rp10,291 per kg. Red cayenne pepper prices dropped the most by Rp695 (1.94%) to Rp35,190 per kg.
