Top 5 Indonesian Provinces with the Highest Investment Realization, First Semester of 2025

According to data from the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), realized investment in Indonesia reached IDR 942.9 trillion in the first half of 2025, a 13.6% year-on-year increase compared to the first half of last year.

Of this realization, 45.9% was foreign direct investment and 54.1% was domestic direct investment.

In the first half of this year, West Java was the province that received the largest investment, with IDR 141 trillion, equivalent to 15% of total national investment.

Jakarta came in second with IDR 140.8 trillion in realized investment.

"West Java remains the number one foreign direct investment (FDI), although the difference with Jakarta is only IDR 1 trillion," said Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani in a press conference on Tuesday (July 29, 2025).

Next came East Java with investment realization of IDR 74.7 trillion, Central Sulawesi IDR 64.2 trillion, and Banten IDR 60.7 trillion.

Selected by sector, 14.3% of investment went to the basic metals, non-machinery, and equipment industry.

Furthermore, 11.7% went to the transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications sector; 10.8% to the mining sector; and 9.1% to other services.
