Top 5 Provinces Receiving the Largest Investments, Q1 2025

The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) reported that investment realization in Indonesia reached Rp465.2 trillion in the first quarter of 2025, a 15.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase.

Of this amount, 49.5% was foreign direct investment (FDI) and 50.5% was domestic direct investment (DDI).

In the first quarter, Jakarta was the largest recipient of investment, at Rp69.8 trillion, surpassing West Java, which frequently held the top spot.

"Due to the increase in investment in the telecommunications sector, investment growth in Jakarta was slightly higher than in West Java," said Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani in a press conference on Tuesday (April 29, 2025).

Investment flowing into Jakarta in Q1 2025 largely went to the transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications sector (Rp24.5 trillion); other services (Rp16.6 trillion); housing and industrial estates (Rp8.6 trillion); trade and repair (Rp8.5 trillion); and construction (Rp4 trillion).

The provinces with the next highest investment inflows were West Java at Rp68.5 trillion, East Java at Rp36 trillion, Central Sulawesi at Rp32.7 trillion, and Banten at Rp31.3 trillion.
