Top 10 Countries with the Largest AI Investments Globally in 2024

According to the *AI Index Report 2025*, global private investment in artificial intelligence (AI) technology reached US$252.3 billion in 2024.

This amount is approximately equivalent to Rp4,253 trillion, assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,859 per US$.

The largest AI private investment in 2024 was in the United States, at US$109.08 billion.

This is almost 12 times the value of AI investment in China, which was US$9.29 billion.

Although its investment lags behind the US, China is recorded as being more active in research. In 2023, China produced about 23% of the total global AI research publications, while the US produced only 9%.

Global AI investment was largely directed towards AI infrastructure, research, and governance (US$37.3 billion); data management (US$16.6 billion); and medical and health services (US$11 billion).
