The manufacturing and agricultural sectors require special attention during the administration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
These two sectors are major pillars of the national economy, yet their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has declined most significantly over the past decade.
In 2010, the manufacturing sector contributed 22.04% to the national GDP, while the agricultural sector contributed 13.93%.
Combined, these two sectors contributed 35.97% or more than one-third of Indonesia's total economic value in 2010.
However, by 2023, the manufacturing sector's contribution shrank by 337 basis points (bps) to 18.67%. Similarly, the agricultural sector decreased by 140 bps to 12.53%.
Other business sectors that experienced the steepest decline in contribution include government administration, which fell by 83 bps from 3.78% in 2010 to 2.95% in 2023.
During the same period, the contribution of wholesale and retail trade decreased by 52 bps from 13.46% to 12.94%; and real estate fell by 47 bps from 2.89% to 2.42%.
Conversely, the transportation and warehousing sector saw the highest increase, adding 232 bps from 3.57% in 2010 to 5.89% in 2023.

8. Water Supply, Waste Management: down from 0.09% to 0.06%
9. Electricity and Gas Supply: down from 1.06% to 1.04%

1. Mining and Quarrying: up from 10.46% to 10.52%
2. Health and Social Work Services: up from 0.97% to 1.21%
3. Corporate Services: up from 1.44% to 1.83%

5. Information and Communication: up from 3.73% to 4.23%
6. Financial and Insurance Services: up from 3.49% to 4.16%
7. Construction: up from 9.13% to 9.92%
8. Transportation and Warehousing: up from 3.57% to 5.89%
