The 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Luwu Utara Regency reached Rp17.84 trillion. This represents a 5.12% growth compared to the previous year's Rp16.05 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, the economic growth in this region is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth was recorded at a decrease of 0.59%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 332,060, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp53,450,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 207th.
Of the 17 sectors driving economic activity in this regency, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is the leading contributor.
The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector ranks first. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest share to the GRDP, reaching Rp8.92 trillion, a growth of 3.18%.
Second is the construction sector, which grew by 17.02% to Rp2.45 trillion, followed by the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 6.39% to Rp1.68 trillion.
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP contributors in Luwu Utara Regency is the manufacturing industry, valued at Rp782.43 billion. According to BPS, this sector grew by 7.18% over the past year from the previous achievement of Rp705.12 billion.
