The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that the realization of the 2024 general election (Pemilu) budget reached Rp14 trillion as of September 19, 2023. This amount has reached 30% of the allocated budget of Rp46.7 trillion.
Election spending up to the middle of this month was channeled through the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), as well as through 14 ministries/institutions (K/L) involved in the election implementation.
The budget for KPU and Bawaslu has been allocated at Rp12.6 trillion from an initial allocation of Rp23.8 trillion. This budget was channeled for the following activities:
* Formation of Ad Hoc Bodies.
* Determination of the number of seats and constituencies.
* Supervision of election implementation.
* Voter data updating and compilation of voter lists.
* Management, procurement, reporting, and documentation of logistics.
In addition, Kemenkeu also disbursed election funds for 14 K/Ls amounting to Rp1.4 trillion from an allocation of Rp6.2 trillion. The spending components are as follows:
* Election security.
* Supervision of funds and the code of ethics for election organizers.
* Dissemination of information, socialization, and coverage related to the election.
* Legal training, constitutional court proceedings, establishment of election posts, and integrated training on election crimes.
"So, it's clear that our democratic process involves not only the KPU and Bawaslu, but also 14 K/Ls that play a role," said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in an online press conference, *APBN Kita*, Wednesday (20/9/2023).
Sri Mulyani also revealed that the total allocation for the election budget in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) from 2022 to 2024 is Rp70.6 trillion.
In detail, the realization value in 2022 was Rp3.1 trillion, the APBN allocation in 2023 reached Rp30 trillion, and the allocation in the 2024 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) is Rp37.4 trillion.
