Household Equipment, Tools, and Routine Maintenance Costs in Berau Regency Decreased by 0.21% in September

The prices of components contributing to inflation of goods and services for routine household maintenance in Berau Regency in September were -0.21%. This figure is lower than the previous month's 0.11%. Among the eight inflation groups measured in this region, the group of equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance contributed -0.04% to regional inflation.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that the consumer price index (CPI) for equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance in Berau Regency was at 102.36 in September 2024, lower than the previous month's 102.58.

This regency/city is a new area that forms the basis for the 2024 CPI calculation. Previously, referring to the 2018 CPI, BPS only calculated 90 regencies/cities. Starting in 2024, referring to the use of the 2022 base year, the CPI is calculated based on the consumption patterns from the Cost of Living Survey (SBH) in 150 regencies/cities in 2022 (2022=100).

Historically, data on inflation in this region has only been available since the beginning of 2024. Compared to the beginning of the year, the prices of components contributing to inflation in Berau Regency have grown by 0.86% (year to date/ytd).

Compared to the other 11 groups, this inflation group is ranked fifth.

National inflation (general) in June 2024 was 0.12%, down from the previous month (month to month/m-to-m). Compared to the beginning of the year, national general inflation reached 1.04% (ytd), and compared to June 2019, there was a 23.07% decrease in inflation (yoy).
