The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has named Bambang Gatot Ariyono, former Director General of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Dirjen Minerba ESDM), as a new suspect in the PT Timah corruption case in Bangka Belitung.
“We have named him as a suspect in his capacity as Dirjen Minerba during the 2015-2020 period,” said Kuntadi, Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office for Special Criminal Acts, as reported by *Katadata* on Wednesday (29/5/2025).
He stated that Bambang allegedly acted illegally by changing the 2019 Work Plan and Budget (RKAB). Bambang is accused of ignoring procedures to change the RKAB for the mining area, increasing it from 30,217 metric tons to 68,300 metric tons, a 100% increase.
For his actions, Bambang is suspected of violating Article 2 Paragraph 1 and Article 3, in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Crime Eradication Law.
