These 10 Provinces Contributed the Largest Export Value Throughout 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's exports reached US$231.54 billion throughout 2021. This figure increased by 41.88% compared to the previous year, which amounted to US$163.19 billion.

West Java remained the province with the largest export value throughout last year, reaching US$33.86 billion or 14.62% of total national exports.

East Kalimantan was in second place with export value reaching US$24.3 billion or 10.5%. East Java followed in third place with export value of US$23 billion or 9.94%.

These three provinces contributed a total of 35.06% to national exports.

The next largest contributors to national exports were Riau with US$19.93 billion or 8.61%, followed by the Riau Islands with US$14.82 billion or 6.4%.

Banten's export value was recorded at US$13.51 billion or 5.84%, while Central Sulawesi's export value was US$12.13 billion or 5.24%.

BPS also noted that Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports throughout 2021 reached US$219.27 billion, a 41.52% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, oil and gas exports were recorded at US$12.27 billion, a 48.78% increase.
