Local White Sugar Prices in West Sulawesi Rise 10.08% in a Week

The price of local granulated sugar in West Sulawesi was Rp 13,650 per kg on Friday, July 8, 2022. Compared to other regions, this area saw the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily monitoring of staple food commodity prices from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, the price of local granulated sugar in West Sulawesi has increased by 10.08% in a week.

Meanwhile, compared to the price 30 days prior, the price of local granulated sugar in this region has increased by 10.08%. This signifies a significant surge in a month. Furthermore, compared to the last year's prices, the current selling price of local granulated sugar in West Sulawesi's modern markets is the highest on record.

For the period of January-July 2022, the price of local granulated sugar in modern markets has continuously increased, rising by 10.08% compared to the previous month.

The price of local granulated sugar reached its lowest point at Rp 12,400 per kg on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. The highest price reached this year was around Rp 13,650 per kg.

Nationally, the price of local granulated sugar started to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of local granulated sugar in modern markets is Rp 13,980 per kg, a 4.28% increase compared to the end of last week.
