Today''s Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken and Onion Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (6/9/2025) at 12:11 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include bulk wheat flour, dried soybean seeds (imported), pure beef, large red chili, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as consumption salt, farmer-level corn, medium rice, SPHP rice, and broiler eggs decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Milkfish prices saw the highest increase of Rp5,000 (12.5%) to Rp45,000 per kg. Meanwhile, red bird''s eye chili prices experienced the sharpest decrease of Rp1,000 (2.08%) to Rp47,000 per kg.
