Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Prices of Beef, Onions, and Cooking Oil Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Friday (27/12/2024) at 09.44 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include broiler chicken, red chilies, medium rice, iodized fine salt, and chicken eggs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, granulated sugar, milkfish, mackerel, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices increased the most, by Rp11,350 (25.8%) to Rp55,350 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry soybean seeds (import) decreased the most, by Rp2,720 (22.67%) to Rp9,280 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 19 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on December 27, 2024, at 09.44 WIB.

6. Broiler Chicken: Rp35,920 per kg (up 5.65%)
7. Mackerel: Rp34,440 per kg (down 21.73%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp29,150 per kg (up 0.52%)
9. Milkfish: Rp27,870 per kg (down 7.1%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,720 per kg (down 10.93%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,540 per liter (up 8.56%)
12. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,160 per kg (down 4.67%)
