Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Cooking Oil, Chili, and Salt Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (September 20, 2025) at 1:22 PM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities with rising prices include medium rice, garlic (bulb), premium rice, packaged wheat flour, and red bird''s eye chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as milkfish, broiler eggs, large red chili, consumption sugar, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Red bird''s eye chili saw the highest surge, Rp1,691 (3.9%) to Rp45,091 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of large red chili dropped the deepest, Rp2,689 (4.62%) to Rp55,519 per kg.
