Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in Solok Regency reached Rp17.32 trillion in 2023. The GRDP in this regency grew by 4.36% compared to the previous year's Rp15.78 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period in 2020, economic growth in this region is significantly higher. Previously, growth at the end of 2020 post-COVID was recorded at a decrease of 1.14%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 405,710, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp42,720,000/capita/year. Nationally, this GRDP per capita ranks 277th.
Of the 17 sectors driving economic activity in this regency, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is the leading sector.
The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector ranks first. In 2023, this sector contributed the largest GRDP with a value reaching Rp5.74 trillion. This nominal value grew by 2.97%.
Next, the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector grew by 5.3% to Rp2.01 trillion, followed by the transportation and warehousing sector, which ranks third this time, growing by 6% to Rp1.91 trillion.
In addition, other sectors contributing to the top five are information and communication with a GRDP of Rp1.22 trillion.

According to its distribution level, the main sector contributing the largest growth to the GRDP in Solok Regency is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, with a contribution of 35.74%. Other sectors in the top five are wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and warehousing, information and communication, and construction.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are Accommodation and Food Service Activities, Real Estate, Business Services, Water Supply, Waste Management, Waste and Recycling, and Electricity and Gas Supply.
