Amalia also revealed that in December 2023, 50 out of 90 cities surveyed by BPS experienced higher annual inflation than the national inflation rate.

In December 2023, Sumenep, East Java, had the highest annual inflation at 5.08% (yoy).

The cities with the next highest annual inflation were Merauke at 4.67% (yoy), then Ternate at 4.41% (yoy), and Luwuk at 4.35% (yoy).
