Transportation Costs in Samarinda City Increased by 1.2% in April

In April, the price of transportation components contributing to inflation in Samarinda reached 1.2%. This is higher than the previous month's -0.64%. Among the 10 inflation groups measured in this area, the transportation group contributed 1.2% to regional inflation.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for transportation in Samarinda was at 111.65 in April 2024, higher than the previous month's 110.33.

Compared to the same month last year, transportation inflation fell by 5.57% (year on year/yoy). Compared to the beginning of the year, prices of components contributing to inflation in Samarinda have grown by 2.23% (year to date/ytd).

Compared to 11 other groups, this inflation group ranked fourth.

The following is the inflation of transportation subgroups measured by BPS for April in Samarinda:

* Transportation: 1.2%
* Passenger transportation services: 7.37%

Compared to 137 other regencies/cities, the highest transportation inflation occurred in Jember Regency at 0.57% with a CPI of 107.86, and the lowest occurred in Bulukumba Regency at 0.1% with a CPI of 108.74. Samarinda ranked 36th.
