Today's Food Prices, December 16 in South Sumatra: Red Chili Rises, Onion Falls

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Tuesday (16/12/2025) at 16:34 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 4 increased and 3 decreased.

The commodities with increased prices are broiler eggs, large red chili, premium rice, and red bird's eye chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as shallots, Honan garlic, and curly red chili decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chili commodity increased the most by Rp750 (1.1%) to Rp69,083 per kg. Shallot prices decreased the most by Rp2,500 (5.52%) to Rp42,750 per kg.

5. Shallots: Rp42,750 per kg (down 5.52%)
6. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp38,167 per kg (stable)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp34,583 per kg (down 1.19%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,667 per kg (up 0.29%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,000 per liter (stable)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (stable)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp17,000 per kg (stable)
12. Minyakita: Rp15,800 per liter (stable)
13. Premium Rice: Rp14,435 per kg (up 0.14%)
14. Medium Rice: Rp13,033 per kg (stable)
