Current Food Prices in South Sumatra: Onion Prices Up, Beef Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (13/9/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), bulk wheat flour, medium rice, red chilies, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), granulated sugar, curly red chilies, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp10,680 (43.91%) to Rp35,000 per kg. Packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp880 (6.83%) to Rp12,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on September 13, 2024, at 08.01 WIB.

1. Pure Beef: Rp130,000 per kg (down 4.04%)
2. Garlic Bulb: Rp40,000 per kg (up 7.7%)
3. Red Chilies: Rp40,000 per kg (up 1.83%)
4. Shallots: Rp35,000 per kg (up 43.91%)
5. Broiler Chicken: Rp33,000 per kg (up 5.43%)
6. Curly Red Chilies: Rp30,000 per kg (down 1.48%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (up 9.85%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp25,000 per kg (down 3.81%)
9. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (up 4.77%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp17,000 per kg (down 1.9%)
11. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp15,640 per liter (up 0.19%)
12. Premium Rice: Rp14,000 per kg (down 0.92%)
13. Medium Rice: Rp13,250 per kg (up 5.75%)
