West Sumatra Food Prices Thursday (August 29th): Chili Prices Up, Egg Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday (29/8/2024) at 14:19 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, bulk cooking oil, red chili peppers, broiler chicken, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, dry soybean (import), broiler eggs, simple packaged cooking oil, and curly red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp2,800 (5.23%) to Rp56,330 per kg. Bulk wheat flour experienced the largest price decrease, falling Rp90 (0.92%) to Rp9,740 per kg.
