Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Chicken, and Egg Prices Drop

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (2/9/2025) at 12:37 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 15 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases include pure beef, corn at farmer level, consumption salt, consumption sugar, and curly red chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour, broiler chicken meat, skipjack tuna, large red chili, and red onion decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Curly red chili experienced the highest surge, increasing by Rp4,822 (9.13%) to Rp57,625 per kg. Meanwhile, large red chili saw the deepest drop, decreasing by Rp1,254 (2.5%) to Rp48,900 per kg.
