Chicken Prices in West Sumatra Rise 13.52% in a Week

The price of chicken in West Sumatra reached Rp 44,500 per kg on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Compared to other regions, this area showed the highest price increase in the last week.

According to daily commodity price monitoring data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center, chicken prices in West Sumatra increased by 13.52% within a week.

Compared to prices 30 days prior, chicken prices in this region have increased by 14.84%. This signifies a significant surge within a month. Furthermore, compared to the last year's prices, the current price of chicken in West Sumatra's modern markets is the highest on record.

For the period of January 2022, the price of chicken in modern markets continued to rise, increasing by 14.84% compared to the previous month.

Chicken prices reached their lowest point at Rp 37,700 per kg on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The highest price ever recorded was around Rp 44,500 per kg.

Nationally, chicken prices started to rise towards the end of 2021. The average price of chicken in modern markets was Rp 43,560 per kg, a 3.28% increase compared to the previous week.
