Premium Sugar Prices in West Papua Are the Highest Nationally (Friday, February 4, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of premium granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 13,820 per kg, as of Friday, February 4, 2022. Overall, the average this week decreased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 13,820 per kg.

The daily price of premium granulated sugar in modern markets in West Papua was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 17,050 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of premium granulated sugar in this province remained unchanged. The highest price ever recorded in this region was Rp 21,500 per kg.

Meanwhile, in Aceh's modern markets, premium granulated sugar was sold at Rp 15,850 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of premium granulated sugar in Gorontalo was Rp 15,250 per kg, Central Sulawesi Rp 14,550 per kg, and North Kalimantan Rp 14,200 per kg.

Meanwhile, there were 10 provinces with premium granulated sugar sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest premium granulated sugar prices were West Kalimantan, North Maluku, and Bangka Belitung Islands.
