Indonesia's debt financing reached Rp203.6 trillion by October 2023, a 59.9% decrease.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani reported that government debt financing through securities issuance reached Rp203.6 trillion (approximately US$13.6 billion) as of October 2023.

This achievement only fulfills 29.2% of the payment target set in the 2023 State Budget (APBN) of Rp696.3 trillion (approximately US$46.4 billion).

The realization also drastically decreased by 59.9% year-on-year (yoy) compared to Rp507.3 trillion (approximately US$34 billion) in October 2022.

The details of debt financing in October 2023 include net state bonds (SBN) of Rp185.4 trillion (approximately US$12.4 billion). This figure decreased drastically by 62.9% (yoy) from Rp500.3 trillion (approximately US$33.4 billion) in October 2022.

Other debt financing components include net loans of Rp18.2 trillion (approximately US$1.2 billion) as of October 2023. This component increased by 159.7% (yoy) from only Rp7 trillion (approximately US$0.5 billion) in October 2022.

Although October 2023 debt financing slumped, Sri Mulyani ensured that the financing management remains well-maintained. The procurement of debt financing through domestic auctions is still on track.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani mentioned that the government has issued US$2 billion in global sukuk amidst volatile market conditions.

"Debt procurement is carried out to meet the 2023 financing needs and anticipate the challenges of 2024," stated Sri Mulyani's report, which was shown in the *APBN KITA* press conference on Friday, June 24, 2023.
