According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 464,720, the GRDP per capita in the region is recorded at Rp287.53 million/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 14th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the region's economy, the manufacturing industry is the leading sector.
In 2023, the manufacturing sector in Cilegon City recorded a value of Rp71.62 trillion, ranking first among the 17 sectors. This represents a 5.56% growth compared to the previous year's Rp66.41 trillion.
Second is the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector, which grew by 3.94% to Rp15.49 trillion, followed by the construction sector with a GRDP of Rp10.09 trillion (2.92%).
Other sectors contributing to the top five include electricity and gas supply with a GRDP of Rp6.84 trillion.
