Today's Food Prices (20/2) in East Java: Red Chili and Rice Prices Rise

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Friday (February 20, 2026) at 18:05 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 3 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, medium rice, bulk palm cooking oil, large red chilies, and beef hindquarters.

Meanwhile, prices of some commodities such as premium rice, Honan garlic, and broiler chicken decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red cayenne pepper prices jumped the highest by Rp7,399 (8.91%) to Rp90,406 per kg. Meanwhile, Honan garlic prices fell the sharpest by Rp84 (0.27%) to Rp31,264 per kg.

Below is the complete list of prices for 16 food commodities in East Java according to SP2KP Kemendag on February 20, 2026 at 18:05 WIB.

2. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp90,406 per kg (up 8.91%)
3. Broiler Chicken: Rp39,430 per kg (down 0.18%)
4. Shallots: Rp36,268 per kg (up 0.64%)
5. Curly Red Chilies: Rp34,937 per kg (up 2.03%)
6. Large Red Chilies: Rp31,772 per kg (up 1.61%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp31,264 per kg (down 0.27%)
8. Broiler Eggs: Rp29,456 per kg (up 0.13%)
9. Premium Packaged Palm Cooking Oil: Rp20,092 per liter (unchanged)
10. Bulk Palm Cooking Oil: Rp17,712 per liter (up 0.14%)
11. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp16,343 per kg (unchanged)
12. Minyakita: Rp15,700 per liter (unchanged)
13. Premium Rice: Rp14,645 per kg (down 0.05%)
