Banten Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Sugar Prices Down (Saturday, December 9, 2023)

The prices of several food commodities in Banten today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (9/12/2023) at 11:29 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 16 commodities increased and 4 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, chicken eggs, milkfish, bulk cooking oil, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallot bulbs, mackerel, dry soybean (import), and granulated sugar decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp23,790 (33.49%) to Rp94,820 per kg. Granulated sugar experienced the lowest price decrease, falling Rp480 (2.84%) to Rp16,450 per kg.
