Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Bandar Lampung City Decreased by 40.13% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung reached 7.43% in 2023.

This figure is down 4.98% from the previous year's 12.41%, and down 2.07% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Bandar Lampung City is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of Bandar Lampung City residents who consume food but whose energy needs are insufficient is less than 7.43% of the total population.
