Prevalence of Food Consumption Insufficiency in Way Kanan Decreased by 0.01% in the Last 5 Years

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung, was 10.61% in 2024.

This figure increased by 3.5% from the previous year's 7.11%, while decreasing by 0.01% in the last 5 years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.27% in 2024. This means that the PoU in Way Kanan Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity conditions.

This means that less than 10.61% of the total population in Way Kanan Regency consumes food but has insufficient energy intake.
