Gen Z, Millennials, and Gen X prefer using smartphones to watch online or streaming videos. This choice reaches 91% across these three generations.

Findings released by Jakpat (a survey company) show that three other devices, besides smartphones, are also popular choices for streaming among these generations.

Laptops or computers were chosen by 49%, televisions by 41%, and tablets by 21%.

"However, based on age group, laptops or computers are more popular among Gen Z, while televisions are more popular among Millennials and Gen X," wrote Jakpat in its report published on Friday, January 27th.

The survey on video streaming involved 1,109 respondents who answered questions online through Jakpat's mobile application. Data collection was conducted monthly throughout 2022. The margin of error is below 3%.

Jakpat did not define the differences between the three generations but grouped them by age. These age groups include: 15-19 years old (18% of respondents), 20-24 years old (20%), 25-29 years old (17%), 30-34 years old (15%), 35-39 years old (15%), and 40-45 years old (16%).

The following devices were chosen by the three generations for video streaming:

1. Smartphones 91%
2. Laptops 49%
3. Televisions 41%
4. Tablets 21%
