Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Tanah Laut Decreased by 0.87% in the Last Year

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan was 3.27% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 0.87% from the previous year's 4.14%, while over the last 5 years it increased by 0.77%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Tanah Laut Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Tanah Laut Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for no more than 3.27% of the total population.
