Kapuas Residents' Food Consumption Deficiency Rate Rises 15.41% in 2025

Quoting data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan reached 15.41% in 2025.

This figure increased by 0.64% from the previous year's 14.77%, while in the last 5 years it rose by 0.01%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Kapuas Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to observe food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that Kapuas Regency residents who consume food but lack sufficient energy intake account for up to 15.41% of the total population.
