Sugar Prices in Modern Markets, May 2024-2025

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of granulated sugar in Aceh Province's modern markets is recorded at Rp19,400 per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, and similarly, there has been no change in price over the past week.

Compared to the price over the past month, the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets has decreased from the previous record of Rp19,500 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of granulated sugar in modern markets in Aceh over the past three months has increased by 1.31% from the previous record of Rp19,150 per kg.

The highest record of daily granulated sugar price increases in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in April 2020 with an increase of 10.08%, and the lowest decrease was recorded in November 2018 with a decrease of -6.41%.

According to PIHPS monitoring, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Aceh show ten commodities decreased and six others increased. The basic commodities with decreased prices are Chicken Eggs, Premium Quality Granulated Sugar, Medium-Sized Red Onions, Red Onions, Green Chili Peppers, Chili Peppers, Medium-Sized Garlic, Granulated Sugar, Fresh Chicken Eggs, and Garlic.

The following are the prices of basic commodities monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in Aceh Province:

1. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per kg: Rp21,650 per kg (up 0.93%)
2. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 per kg: Rp21,350 per kg (unchanged)
3. Curly Red Chili per kg: Rp69,900 per kg (up 119.12%)
4. Medium II Quality Rice per kg: Rp15,850 per kg (unchanged)
5. Chicken Eggs per kg: Rp34,700 per kg (down 1.28%)
6. Premium Quality Granulated Sugar per kg: Rp20,150 per kg (down 0.98%)
7. Medium I Quality Rice per kg: Rp16,000 per kg (unchanged)
8. Inferior I Quality Rice per kg: Rp15,400 per kg (up 0.98%)
9. Super II Quality Rice per kg: Rp16,000 per kg (unchanged)
10. Medium-Sized Red Onions per kg: Rp48,900 per kg (down 14.96%)
11. Red Onions per kg: Rp48,900 per kg (down 14.96%)
12. Green Chili Peppers per kg: Rp63,200 per kg (down 16.4%)
13. Cooking Oil per kg: Rp21,500 per kg (up 0.47%)
