Prevalence of Undernourishment in Rejang Lebong Increased by 0.88% in the Last Year

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, was 12.54% in 2024.

This figure increased by 0.88% from the previous year's 11.66%, while over the last 5 years, it rose by 2.27%.

Indonesia's average PoU was 8.27% in 2024. This means that Rejang Lebong Regency's PoU is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the residents in Rejang Lebong Regency who consume food but whose energy needs are insufficient do not reach 12.54% of the total population.
