Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), monitoring over the last 24 hours recorded 861 detected hotspots across Indonesia. This figure decreased by 28 hotspots compared to the previous monitoring period.

This data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Monday (13/7/2026) at 11:32 WIB. Out of the 861 detected hotspots: 35 have high confidence level, 800 medium confidence, and 26 low confidence level.

Hotspot confidence is classified into 3 scales: low (0-29), medium (30-79), high (80-100). Higher hotspot confidence indicates greater probability of forest and land fires occurring in the area.

West Kalimantan recorded the highest count with 153 hotspots, followed by South Sumatra with 100 hotspots, then East Kalimantan with 77 hotspots.

63 hotspots were detected in South Kalimantan, 60 in East Nusa Tenggara, while Central Kalimantan and East Java recorded 37 and 35 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are geographic coordinates showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas, they do not directly represent the total number of fire events.

However, concentrated clusters of high hotspot counts indicate active forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for wide-area wildfire monitoring.
