Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in North Minahasa Reaches 6.19% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi reached 6.19% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 1.28% from the previous year's 7.47%, while it increased by 2.57% over the last 5 years.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in North Minahasa Regency is lower than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy required for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that the percentage of North Minahasa Regency residents who consume food but do not meet their energy needs is less than 6.19% of the total population.
