The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded three districts/cities in Papua with weekly average vaccinations above the provincial average of 174.89 doses as of Saturday, May 28, 2022.
The top three districts/cities with averages above 300 doses are Mimika, Merauke, and Biak Numfor, with 548, 357, and 327 doses respectively.
Mimika recorded the highest weekly average vaccination rate in Papua at 548 doses. As of yesterday, 203,420 doses have been used. National dashboard data shows that the region has achieved 67.37% complete vaccination coverage.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 110 days. This remaining usage time is calculated based on the remaining stock of 60,284 doses and the highest vaccine usage in Papua.
Merauke is second. Complete vaccination coverage in this district has reached 74.16%. Compared to the previous week, the weekly average vaccination rate in this district reached 357 doses. The available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 70 days. This remaining usage time is calculated based on the available stock of 25,036 doses.
Then, the weekly average vaccination in Biak Numfor is 327 doses and complete vaccination coverage is 47.63%; Jayapura with 144 doses and 59.57% complete vaccination coverage; and Jayawijaya with 76 doses and 13.17% complete vaccination coverage.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccinations of 7,506, 6,305, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
