Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara erupted again on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 4:03 PM WITA. In the last week, Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki has erupted 30 times.

Based on eruption information from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) via the MAGMA Indonesia application, the visual eruption was not observed. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 22.9 millimeters and a duration of 628 seconds.

According to the MAGMA Indonesia volcano activity report, the activity level of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki is at Level III (Alert). Observations of seismic activity on June 30, 2024, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM WITA showed 2 eruption quakes with amplitudes of 8.8-25.9 millimeters and durations of 131-248 seconds.

Furthermore, there was 1 rockfall earthquake with an amplitude of 4.4 mm and a duration of 22 seconds, and 1 low-frequency earthquake with an amplitude of 19.9 millimeters and a duration of 62 seconds.

PVMBG advises the public around Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki and visitors/tourists not to conduct any activities within a 3-kilometer radius of the eruption center of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, and a sectoral 4-kilometer radius in the northeast direction and a 5-kilometer radius in the northeast sector.

During 2024, MAGMA Indonesia has recorded 1,352 volcanic eruptions/eruptions throughout Indonesia. Mount Semeru in East Java had the most eruptions (586 times), while Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted 271 times.
