The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded three districts/cities in Papua with a weekly average vaccination rate above the provincial average of 174.89 doses as of Monday, May 9, 2022.
The three top districts/cities with an average above 0 doses are Mimika, Merauke, and Biak Numfor, with 548, 357, and 327 doses respectively.
Mimika ranks first with a weekly average vaccination of 548 doses. Vaccine usage up to yesterday was recorded at 203,420 doses. In the national dashboard recapitulation, the complete vaccination achievement in this region has reached 66.42 percent.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 110 days. This remaining usage time is calculated from the remaining stock of 60,284 doses, and vaccine usage is the highest in Papua.
Following Mimika is Merauke with a vaccination rate of 357 doses. The available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 70 days. This remaining usage time is calculated from the remaining stock of 25,036 doses.
Next, the weekly average vaccination in Biak Numfor is 327 doses and the complete vaccination achievement is 46.03 percent; Jayapura with 144 doses and a complete vaccination achievement of 58.95 percent; and Jayawijaya with 76 doses and a complete vaccination achievement of 12.94 percent.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccinations of 7,506, 6,305, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
