The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded four districts/cities in East Kalimantan with an average weekly vaccination rate above the provincial average of 2,054.12 doses as of Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
The average vaccination rate for the top three districts/cities, all exceeding 3,000 doses, are Kutai Kartanegara, Samarinda City, and Balikpapan City, with 4,222 doses, 2,951 doses, and 2,862 doses respectively.
Kutai Kartanegara recorded the highest average weekly vaccination rate in East Kalimantan with 4,222 doses. As of yesterday, a total of 766,080 doses have been used. Based on the national dashboard recapitulation, the complete vaccination rate in this region has reached 77.46 percent.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in the next 10 days. This remaining usage period is calculated based on the remaining stock of 44,526 doses and the highest vaccine usage rate in East Kalimantan.
Next is Samarinda City, which recorded an average weekly vaccination rate of 2,951 doses, lower than the previous week. Samarinda City is ranked second. With this average vaccine usage, the vaccine stock in this region will be sufficient for the next 32 days. The remaining vaccine stock is currently 96,022 doses.
Also in the top five, besides the two regions above, are: the average weekly vaccination rate in Balikpapan City at 2,862 doses and a complete vaccination rate of 107.69 percent; Kutai Timur with 2,217 doses and a complete vaccination rate of 84.69 percent; and Kutai Barat with an average weekly vaccination rate of 1,410 doses and a complete vaccination rate of 94.85 percent.
Areas outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccinations of 7,506 doses, 6,305 doses, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
