The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded four districts/cities in North Sumatra with a weekly average vaccination rate above the provincial average of 3,657.22 doses as of Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
The top three districts/cities with average vaccination rates exceeding 5,000 doses are Simalungun, Langkat, and Asahan, with 7,506 doses, 5,455 doses, and 4,584 doses respectively.
Simalungun recorded the highest weekly average vaccination rate in North Sumatra with 7,506 doses. As of yesterday, a total of 1.13 million doses have been used. Based on national dashboard data, the region has achieved 72.61% full vaccination coverage.
According to the Ministry of Health, the available vaccine stock in this district will run out in 16 days. This remaining usage time is calculated based on the available stock of 124,660 doses and the highest weekly vaccine usage in North Sumatra.
Next is Langkat, which recorded a weekly average vaccination rate of 5,455 doses, lower than the previous week. Langkat is ranked second. With this average vaccine usage, the vaccine stock in this region will be sufficient for 40 days. The remaining vaccine stock is currently 221,230 doses.
Following this, the weekly average vaccination rate in Asahan is 4,584 doses with 77.81% full vaccination coverage; Deli Serdang has a weekly average vaccination rate of 4,372 doses and 73.93% full vaccination coverage; and Tapanuli Selatan has a vaccination rate of 3,126 doses and 80.18% full vaccination coverage.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest average vaccination rates include Simalungun, Rokan Hulu, and Lampung Tengah, with average vaccination rates of 7,506 doses, 6,305 doses, and 6,083 doses respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
