Lembata's Population Food Consumption Adequacy Rate Decreased by 15.85% in 2023

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, reached 15.85% in 2023.

This figure is down 2.51% from the previous year's 18.36%, and down 3.64% over the past five years.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Lembata Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of the population in Lembata Regency consuming insufficient food to meet their energy needs is 15.85% of the total population.
