145 Hotspots Detected in Indonesia in the Last 24 Hours (Tuesday, December 2, 2025)

Based on the SiPongi forest and land fire monitoring system of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring in the last 24 hours shows 145 hotspots detected in Indonesia. This number of hotspots decreased by 45 points compared to the previous period.

The data is the result of Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed on Tuesday (December 2, 2025) at 11:12 AM WIB. Of the 145 hotspots detected, 1 point has a high hotspot confidence level and 144 points have a medium scale.

Hotspot confidence levels are divided into 3 scales. The low scale ranges from 0 - 29, the medium scale from 30 - 79, and the high scale from 80 - 100. The higher the hotspot confidence level, the higher the likelihood of forest and land fires occurring in a particular area.

The highest number of hotspots was detected in Southeast Sulawesi with 27 points. North Maluku ranked second with 24 hotspots. East Java was in third place with 23 hotspots.

As many as 15 hotspots were detected in Central Papua, followed by East Kalimantan with 14 hotspots, and Central Sulawesi and Central Java each having 8 and 7 hotspots detected.

A hotspot is a coordinate point of an area that has a higher surface temperature compared to its surroundings, and not the number of forest and land fire incidents.

However, a large number of clustered hotspots in an area indicates the occurrence of forest and land fires. This means that hotspot data from remote sensing satellite detection is still the most effective for monitoring forest and land fires over large areas.
